Radiography
Dose from rate and time
How much dose a given rate and time add up to, or how long you can stay before reaching a dose.
For reference only — verify against your procedure and the governing code.
Result
- Dose
- 160µSv
Formula
- Dose = rate × time
- Time = dose ÷ rate
Units. Dose rate and dose in µSv/h and µSv (metric) or mrem/h and mrem (imperial); 1 mrem = 10 µSv exactly (10 CFR 20.1004).
Assumptions and limits
- A constant rate over the whole time. Your dosimetry and the licensee's limits govern.
- 1 rem = 10 mSv exactly (10 CFR 20.1004).
