Already have the app? It keeps itself current: most improvements arrive on their own the next time it is opened with signal, and Google Play installs the rest. A copy installed from the file on this page is the same app, signed the same way, so Google Play can update it in place — you keep your sign-in and anything still waiting to send, with nothing to uninstall. When a change needs a newer install, the app says so on its Home screen and links to Google Play.
iPhone. The iPhone app is in testing with a small group through Apple's TestFlight and is not in the App Store yet. There is nothing to download for iPhone yet.
Can't use Google Play?
For an Android device with no Google Play — a field tablet, or a company phone with the store switched off — the same app is a file you can install directly.

The SHA-256 is the fingerprint of the file we published. If your company checks downloads before installing them, the file you received should produce the same one.
Installing from the file
- Open this page on the phone or tablet and tap the download link. Your browser may warn that this kind of file can be harmful; choose to download it anyway.
- Open the downloaded file. The first time, Android says your browser is not allowed to install apps: tap Settings, switch on "Allow from this source", and go back.
- Tap Install. Play Protect may say it has not seen this app before and offer to scan it first. Let it scan, which takes a few seconds, then carry on with the install.
- Open TRACE and sign in with the login you already use on the website. There is nothing to buy and no separate account.
Can't install apps on a company phone? The Field Reports page of the website works in any phone's browser, on iPhone as well: a technician signs in, writes the report on a job they are crewed on, adds photos, submits it and takes the customer's sign-off. It needs a connection; keeping work made with no signal is what the app is for.

TRACE is an independent product: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or accredited by Google and Apple, or by any other organization whose standards, programs or products it works with. Their names and marks are their own, used to say what TRACE helps you track.
