Add-on module
Every job, from the deal you won to what it actually made.
Turn a won deal into a job, put a crew and the right equipment on it, collect the hours from the field, and watch the margin as it happens — instead of finding out at invoicing that the job lost money.
Sold on its own — $49.99/mo or $499/yr, including 400 extra AI credits a month, no other TRACE subscription needed. Also available as an add-on to any plan. Create your account or see pricing.
What it does
Project Management, in detail.
The won deal becomes the job
One click on a Closed Won deal opens a job carrying the customer, the scope, and the value you quoted — so the number you sold is the number the margin is measured against. Call-outs and repeat work start as jobs directly, no deal required.
A crew you can see is qualified
Assign technicians and each one shows their certification standing against that job's methods — current, expiring inside sixty days, or expired. The mismatch between the scope sold and the tickets held is visible while you can still fix it, not on the day of the audit.
Equipment that says where it is
Put assets on a job with a date range and, if it bills that way, a day rate. Each one carries its calibration standing from Tool Control, so gear that's overdue for a check is flagged before it's loaded into the truck.
Hours logged from the field
Technicians submit their own time against the jobs they're assigned to, from their phone. The office verifies each entry before it counts — and once verified, it's locked. Technicians never see a cost rate; the module has no way to show them one.
Costs that add themselves up
Verified hours at your labor rates, job expenses by category, and equipment day rates roll into one figure against the job's value — profit and margin per job, and across the whole portfolio, without a spreadsheet in the loop.
The report and the raw numbers
A job report PDF — scope, crew with certification standing, equipment with calibration standing, time, expenses, and the profitability block — plus a portfolio export to XLSX when you'd rather pivot it yourself.
How it works
Day to day.
- 1
Open the job
Convert the won deal, or create the job outright. It's numbered for you and carries the customer, the site, and the methods in scope.
- 2
Put people and gear on it
Assign the crew and the equipment. Certification and calibration standing surface as you pick, so an unqualified assignment is caught at the point of making it.
- 3
Let the field fill it in
Technicians log their hours from the mobile app; you verify them. Expenses and equipment days go on as they happen.
- 4
Read the margin
The job's profitability is current the whole way through — not a number assembled after the invoice goes out.
A management number, not a bookkeeping one
TRACE isn't accounting software and doesn't pretend to be. The job's value is what you enter, its labor cost is the hourly rate you set on each technician — not payroll, and not burdened with overtime multipliers, taxes, or overhead — and expenses are what someone records against the job. There's no invoicing here and no accounting-package sync: nothing in this module posts to your books. What it gives you is the operational picture while the job is still running, which is exactly when the number can still change something. Reconciling it against what your accountant produces stays your job.
